About me!

Rennie Young: I retired from Honda Canada Inc. last December after 26 years, 17 years with the military prior to that. Also, I turned 65 Sept. 10. "I wanted to do one thing in my life that would make a difference and I felt this was IT"! I surpassed my fund raising goal of $5,000. I want to thank all who donated to the cause on my behalf. I only started my fund raising on July 22 and found everyone very eager to contribute as just about everybody has been touched by Cancer. It is a horrific disease and we have to make it history!

First night before the ride starts

I arrived at the hotel early and all the remainder were in by 1600 for our group meeting. It took about 2hrs as Todd McDonald the co-coordinator covered all the details regarding the ride, especially safety. We then had a pizza dinner and some group photos. We will be heading out very early in the morning for the ferry to Victoria, then on to another ferry to Port Angeles Washington were we will have an organized procession ride to a community hall. There we will change clothes and be picked up by host families where we will be billeted tomorrow night. The group of people are from all over Canada and one from Chicago and they are a very dedicated caring group of people willing to give of themselves to help others who can't. I feel honored to be a part of this. The weather looks good tomorrow but then several days of wet weather. I am the dedicated mechanic and still have to help assemble some bikes, so hopefully I will be able to do another update tomorrow if I have internet access. Goodnight!
